L’Ormarins Queen’s Plate sets the stage for the after-party of the summer Cape Town’s biggest horse-racing event and summer soiree, the L’Ormarins Queen’s Plate, is set to take place at Kenilworth Racecourse on Friday and Saturday, 6-7 January 2017, with a stellar line-up of off-track world-class entertainment, including SA’s top house deejay, Euphonik.
The elegant two-day horseracing festival – with its unparalleled 18-race card and distinct blue and white dress code – is a formidable combination of elegance and equine excellence, all of which will culminate in the now-famous LQP After-Party on Saturday.
Back by popular demand and having recently returned from his hugely successful African tour, Euphonik is sure to electrify the dance-floor from 9pm when he takes to the decks with his infectious hit, “It’s a fine day”, currently dominating airwaves.
“I am excited and honoured to once again form a part of the glamour and good times that LQP represents. It’s bigger and better each year and I am ready to bring my A-game – guests can expect a real musical trip that will match the festival’s on-track action,” says Euphonik.
In addition to being considered one of the world’s most prestigious horse-racing events, LQP will honor its provenance with a Cape Minstrel parade just before the L’Ormarins Queen’s Plate, where all eyes will be on SA’s finest thoroughbreds who will compete for the R1.5 million purse.
The LQP festival guarantees the best in South Africa’s rich horse-racing heritage, elegant fashion and entertainment and is sure to commence the Cape’s 2017 social calendar on a high note.
